One of the sail boaters we met before coming here said they could describe Mackinac Island in four words--horse sh__ and fudge! They do not allow motor vehicles on the island and they are famous for their fudge. They bring the supplies over on a ferry loaded with trucks and leave the trucks on the dock and off-load them onto horse drawn carriages.
