Sunrise by the bridge. We left our anchorage at 6:40 am because the lockmaster said he could take us right away. In addition he told us that we could float instead of tying up--we were grateful since the wall was in disrepair. You can see two other power boats, Foreign Exchange and Good News, floating in front of us as the sun was rising! Looking off to the side, you can see the dam. The dam is sometimes down (wickets) and you can just power over the dam. Right here the towes were backed up since there wasn't enough water in the locks to allow them to go through.
There is a picture of the new Ohlmstead Lock and Dam to replace Lock 53 which had the wickets down and we floated over and Lock 52 that we went through at sunrise. They are hoping that it will be ready by 2013.
