On Friday, Aug. 3rd we went through the Peterborough Lift Lock. Basically you move your boat into a large basin of water and they close the gates and lift the basin, and all inside, up 60 feet to the water level above. Like going up an open air elevator in a bathtub!! After that we worked our way through 6 locks in about 8 miles and spent the night in Lakefield. Today we're at Youngs Point and will be heading for Stony Lake shortly where we hope to hang out on the hook around the many islands. Hopefully avoiding the multitude of rocks.
